Grant entitlement and eligibility

It is intended that the grant will be available for the cleanest and most environmentally friendly cars until April 2023, but to ensure the grant remains sustainable as the UK market for ultra-low emission vehicles develops with effect from 18 March 2021 it will be available on the following terms:

For orders made before 18 March 2021 provided the claim has been correctly submitted to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles and the car is delivered within 9 months it will qualify for a grant at the rate in force when the car was ordered.

Grants and allowances for electric charging equipment

The government continues to provide grants towards the installation of charge points, offering £350 towards a dedicated charge point at home, and £350 for each workplace charging unit up to a maximum of 40 per organisation.

Until April 2023 a 100% first year allowance is available to businesses for expenditure incurred on electric charge point equipment, but any company that incurs expenditure on the installation of an electric charge point between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2023 may claim a 130% Super-deduction.
